Artist Statement
I am a mixed media artist whose paintings, drawings, and murals speak to the experiences unique to gender-diverse people and to the need for marginalized communities to be understood, valued, and respected so we, too, can live long, happy, and fulfilling lives. I believe the current international lack of diverse representation in art has played a part in leading many people to believe that marginalized genders are new, inferior, or even non-existent. To address this, I use art to raise awareness about gender diversity and trans culture, and to encourage love and unity.
Artist Bio
I currently have artwork on permanent exhibition at the Fresno EOC LGBTQ Resource Center. My recent exhibitions have been at the Fresno Arts Council, Arts Visalia, and the Brandon-Mitchell Art Gallery in Visalia. My art has been featured in Cream City Review, ArtWife, High Shelf Press, Trans Muted, TransJoy Media, and other art journals. When not making art, I am a caregiver to my in-laws, and I am also a volunteer board member of Trans-E-Motion. In 2021, I was the recipient of the Monochrome Award from the J. Mane Gallery.
